"I can't believe I'm going back," Patsy Palmer told a magazine. "After being in the soap for long and then leaving, it was the weirdest thing to open the script and for it to feel natural." Commenting on her previous comments about never going back to Eastenders, she added: "It's never been in my heart to go back. I even said some of the storylines were ridiculous and unbelievable and I meant it at the time.
Even a month before I decided, I was adamant I wouldn't return. I still don't know if returning to a show works and that worries me, but the storylines are brilliant, so I'm half-way there."
But really , it could be a mistake to go back... like relaxing back into an old armchair....... when Patsy really should be looking at more live stage work eg musicals and plays.
When "My Fair Lady " was revived in the West End I thought that Patsy was a shoe in for the part ...she was still in her 20s still young and sweet...... but in the end the role went to Martine McCuchen.
Martine was pretty perfect too, but illness struck and she lost her big chance.
Pity they did nt go for Patsy in the first place but...whatever which way.... Liza in ' My Fair Lady' is a great part for a cockney girl like Patsy..." cor blimey guvnor... the rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain "
